Dr Broth contains no preservatives or additives and is completely natural so we freeze it to keep it fresh.
You can slightly defrost it, to loosen it then put the whole ‘broth ice block’ into your pot to defrost gently on a low heat or put the whole ice block straight into your cooking. If you just want to use a cup of broth, defrost the whole tub, mix it with the spoon then pour off how much you would like to use. Then leave the rest of the broth in your fridge. There are super easy recipes to use on our recipe page.
There is a use by date on the tub, however if the broth stays frozen the broth will last indefinitely.
You should have at least 5 days in the fridge to a week. However, we recommend to see the health benefits from bone broth you should consume it almost daily.
We recommend that you do not refreeze it as a broth, but if you have cooked with it, you can freeze what you have cooked. Make sure you reheat thoroughly.
Bone broth contains important nutrients, vitamins and minerals and has the extra benefit of being high in collagen. Collagen is a protein and is one of the building blocks of the body. Our gut, skin, joints and ligaments all contain collagen.
Bone broth can be used as a meal replacement and part of the intermittent fasting diet. I like to replace my dinner with a cup of Dr Broth bone broth. Your body does a lot of healing at night so going to bed without having a huge meal to digest gives your body a better chance to heal and repair. Dr Broth is preservative, gluten, hormone and sugar free so can be used in any diet and is Keto friendly.
To get the maximum benefit, we recommend you have it every day. For weight loss or gut health issues we recommend you use it as a meal substitute and drink it neat - 250ml per day. To get the nutritional benefits you can use it in your everyday cooking routine. Anywhere you use water you can replace with Dr Broth bone broth e.g. cook rice in the broth, make your kids ice lollies with it, make all your stews, curries and sauces with it. Visit our recipe page for inspiration.
It depends on which product you are using. If you are using our concentrate, you can dilute one 80ml sachet with 200/250ml's of water. You can also use the frozen sachet neat in your cooking. Our tub broths do not need to be diluted.
